Exitement Reigns

Well, today i went into the city, got droped off at the conservatorium, did some car dodging to try and get accross to Maquarie Street and down passed the old, beautiful sandstone exterior of the old treasury building (restored as part of the intercontinental hotel-see picture above, the smaller building at the front) and through the clean, glass entrance (on the other side to the picture) to the Intercontinental Hotel. I walked up to the front desk and opted that the concierge was the best place to visit. i stood in a que at the desk (the longest i've seen at a concierge desk - he even had two phones to his ears at once) when it was my turn, i regurgitated the lines that i had repeated since i got out of the car (just so that i sounded a bit professional) "I was wondering how i go about applying for a job at this hotel." he calmly, slightly smiled out of relief that i wasn't there to book a cruise or something of the sort. he walked around the corner as i waited watching the busy 'go-ings' on in the stylish lobby. when he returned, he handed me a couple of stapled sheets of paper and said "you can fill these out and return them" i smilled gratefully and said thanks. (on the bottom of the intro page, was a list of benifits -not the reason i will apply but, still, not bad - with discounted accomadation at 3600 hotels round the world, discounted travel, airfairs, car hire and tours, 25% of hotel food and beverage outlets, meals provided free of charge during work, uniform 'launded' free, training and development, oportunity to make new friends in the social club and access to career oportunities around the world -pretty cool no!!!!!!!!!!)

i turned and walked out the door to pit street to spend my christmas voucher at boarders (got a rhyming dictionary, thesaurus (organised by the flow of ideas and not alphabetical), and a DVD of John Mayer. It might sound nerdy to have bought those dictionary objects but i do have a reason - Song writing, hopefully to improve it by a technique of drawing up worksheets with the idea or title, then words from the theasaurus - the dinosaur of the dictionaries (saurus -keep up!), that related to that idea, then find words that rhym with it. Then you have a sheet with words to use so ideas don't have to be compromised to fit 'perfect rhyms' and also, you have a sheet full of words to spark of ideas so you can go searching for 'sensory memories'.

Anyway, here i am so excited about the hotel application, that i'm sitting here filling out most of it already!!! i look forward to the future!!!!!!!!!!!
