Well i haven't posted in ages (not to mention the last day) i think i must have got a bit overwealmed with it all, and also i haven't felt like doing it for a while. Been improving in my time management and organisational skills, ever so slowly, couple of steps forward, couple back..

I think just a small one to start back...just ease back into it... :p

Second Last Day

Well, its almost to a close sadly. Tomorrow is going to be a bit of a hectic day, trying to get tickets, go to the michael buble concert, work meet up with jess after she has got the tickets, work out what to do with my stuff....Hope it all goes ok...then work on sunday then next week is study/relax week, heading down to the country for some study and a chance to get away!

One more night to go tomorrow night....i better make it a good one....

Not much to report today

Bit sad that blog a day is coming to an end...it is such a great competition, thanks jess.

Had a big sleep when i got home from going to uni and the gym...bit tired. Only two more lectures to go this semester then a study week then exams. heading down the highlands for the study week which should be good. Jess went to a careers fair thing today, had a good time, told the observatory hotel that i'm a bit strange and have a subscription to their mag, really interested in their company..etc..i think they think i'm crazy!

Not much else happened today...last assignment got put in...no more to do...

Appart from that...not much else....

Reminiscing

Just reminiscing about the old times...when Andrew and Cecily helped jess and i get to know each other....dragging us to meet each other :p they did very well and i think we are both appreciative : )

Just thinking about driving in the cold whethered highlands in the car with the car seats that were very comfy, just chatting and getting to know each other : ) good times : )

Just noticed that i am up to my 150th post...how exciting. Jess is currently trying, with me to put up a video of the idol playing...i watched myself and rich today and i think that we rocked. It sounds much better than my original recordings of my song... So it went well. Got a rather big assignment that i have to finsh tomorrow so i will leave it there...worked all weekend and now back to my last week of uni!!! but then there are exams...oh well

Idol!!

Tonight richard and i competed in the school idol competition. We played one song- I don't need no doctor by john mayer (covered of ray charles). it went really well, started off great and just had fun....it just went well...then rich had to play with his other band (our band was just him and me...) and he sang for his band as well which he did really well. Then we found out, after all the bands, that we had got through to the final....we played one of my songs, it went well too. I can't really describe it...i played well, rich played well and it all went great...it was fun to be singing and playing up on stage...and the sound guy they had come in was great and really helped us with setting all the levels. I want to watch the replay to see exactly what we looked like...i know what it looked like on the stage...looking through the blue lights to all the people staring...i think i moved around the stage well too...didn't just stand in one spot like rich was told last year...Anyway, it was a fun night and rich was very happy that we got through to the second round, we didn't win...but we had fun and rich was stoked to have got to the second round with one of his bands....we had fun and grew closer and had lots of fun! So overall a fun night!!!

Not much tonight

I just finished a prac for tomorrow after getting home very late from work. Finshed at 9pm., got out by 9:30 stopped by hilton to pick up my keys by 10, waited for a bus till 10:30, caught a cab at 10:35 and got home late, had a practice at 10:40 finished at 11:25, and jess just got home....its been a long day!!! and an even longer one tomorrow...

Ode to the park bench

What a great idea. To put a comfortable seat in the middle of a park, you don't have to wonder where to sit, on which piece of grass choosing from so much, a spot made all ready for you to just sit and enjoy the nature around you. As i think of it after reading proverbs around chapter 8, one of the things that was suggested in my bible study was to appreciate the presence of God in nature. What better vantage point.

today was an interesting day so keep reading....

yeh, i was just kidding. went to uni and then came home. however jess and i found a lovely spot in the park to just sit and enjoy. It was nice cause we didn't feel like we were in the city and we could just relax and chat...it was fun..

mistake

In post- Chateau d'Yquem:

Just to let you know that a bottle of d'Yquem can cost about 45 thousand pounds, not the previously stated 45 pounds. This is for and early bottle, such as from the 1800's.

Sake (sa'ki)

Just reading up on sake this morning (its in my magazine). Rather interesting. Sake is made from rice, the higher the starch content the better. Similar to other alcoholic beverages, sake is made through fermentation of converting grain starch into sugar and then sugar into alcohol, however in Sake, this is all done at the same time giving sake a higher alcohol content. It is brewed from water rice and yeast, and is as specialised and diversified as wine and spirits. Sake can sometimes be served hot but in the article is says that this is just a way to hide the bitterness of bad sake, it should apparently be served cold. One of the premium sakes listed is a 720ml bottle of Datsay YN 23 at 635 pounds a bottle (apparently the Japanese equivalent of a premium chardonnay). I have never tasted Sake though....have to wait and see what the fuss is about.

Secretly

I'm working on something secretly for Jess, can't say what i want to talk about but i will soon when i have finshed...i'm getting interested in old things, not just old but with a sense of esteme.. also focusing on learning things from discovery channels....my room is looking tidyer. This is a boring post.....got a big assignment to do tomorrow, day off from uni to do it. Its with a partner but we don't really need a partner, they could split the assignment into two parts and we could do it by ourselves...its just too big as it is to do by yourself..

How boring a post...
Hopefully i'll come up with something more interesting tomorrow night.

Chateau d'Yquem

Well, back from the highlands...too short a trip but there is more instore soon thankfully. Had lots of fun down there though, saw lots of people and caught up and just enjoyed the slower pace and cold whether.

Just reading up on Chateau d'Yquem, a very expensive Botrytis Semilion which dating back to its first great vintage of 1811, it can fetch a pretty penny...45 thousand pounds for a bottle of the stuff. Botytis is a bacteria which infects the grapes which is then turned into a sweeter wine, in d'Yquem, only the infected grapes are picked down to the grape in 133 hectares of vines at the chateau. The chateau owners have very high standards of the production and have been know to throw back harvests if they do not come up to their standards. I would love to have a bottle just to know that what i had in my hand that i had bought had such a rich history and i could read all about it and appreciate it. I would hope to like it once i opened it! But seeing it ages very well, for at least a decade or too untill it starts to do well...I might have to make sure before i bought it :p
