Is it time?

With television time at the moment -no i don't have a specific time but in watching it, i have been watching the show '15/Love'. it is a series about teenagers at a tennis academy called Cascadia where they practise tennis and it is about the relations that go on and different events. The channel currently has a marathon of the show - someone helped me to realise that it is probably becuase of the tennis on at the moment! i always feel that when there is a marathon of any show, that it is so easy to get caught up in it and start to get really involved -(previous experience with digimon at an earlier time)- so i have become involved -visually and emotionally- with this show. Two of the main characters also fall in love -slowly- over the time and i have been wishing that i was the guy!! hehe they have such a great relationship (even though the guy is kind of a jerk most of the time) and i think i know what people mean when they say people look good as a couple! it has got me thinking that maybe i would like to have a girlfriend -haha. i don't know if i would be ready but... i don't know!! i don't even know when i will know or what they will look like -hench the pic missing up the top- but to have it happen like what i have seen.... in the meantime i will write a song about something of the sort and wait.....

So, one seriously confused guy signing off.........

It shocks me too!

As much as i don't want to spoil the great acoustic guitar pic at the top of the last post being at the top of the page i thought i would just say that "wow, i can write alot!" Just looking at the page and scrolling down the long pieces - wow! long! anyway to try and combat the problem of no guitar at the top of the page i will put a completely unrelated pic (to this post) at the top : )

More Exitement

Last night i couldn't get to bed for about two hours thinking of an idea i have so hopefully writing about it might allow quicker sleep tonight!!

Well, the idea was about a free concert at church. to work really hard to make it work with lighting on the stage in the hall me playing my songs on stage and getting the youth group to plan for it. the main reasons for it would be

1. To make the word of God know (by having the minister give a short talk in the middle of me playing songs
2. To raise money for the church (by selling food and drink)
3. To introduce people to the church and youthgroup (by hosting it at the church with the youthgroup helping)

other things would be to get the youthgroup involved with advertising and planning and makeing sure the word is passed around schools etc. to get people to RSVP for food orders and seating and also to tell whether there were going to be enough people to make all the effort of preparation. i would play with me on guitar and vocals, my bro on bass guitar another guitarist and have to find someone who plays drums

From now until the time (probably sometime in the middle/ 3/4 of the year) i would probably take lessons at the conservatorium of music to improve my guitar playing (with a student teacher or something) and also improve my current songs and make some new ones and when it comes time pick (along with other people) the best ones. i would sit down and improve by reading the book im reading at the moment "writing better lyrics" and grap some tips, keep a ten minutes a day 'object writing' journal and a 20 minutes, three times a week guitar practise journal - i started it (the idea is to write it down a small note about what was done- mine isn't usually short! -and then it gets into a habbit and also provides positive reinforcement as you look over how far you've come) and i have been finding out that i think i am at the end stage of this process where i don't miss to many days without 'needing' or so to speak to practise just cause i love to play it.

This has come as an idea just in my head and also from watching concerts of John Mayer on DVD and going to a Ben Folds concert a while ago (more on the first idea), and i would love to get this under my belt in experience and to get people to hear and tell me if they like it - could this be the start?! (btw - that pic up the top is pretty cool - i like guitars!)

Exitement Reigns

Well, today i went into the city, got droped off at the conservatorium, did some car dodging to try and get accross to Maquarie Street and down passed the old, beautiful sandstone exterior of the old treasury building (restored as part of the intercontinental hotel-see picture above, the smaller building at the front) and through the clean, glass entrance (on the other side to the picture) to the Intercontinental Hotel. I walked up to the front desk and opted that the concierge was the best place to visit. i stood in a que at the desk (the longest i've seen at a concierge desk - he even had two phones to his ears at once) when it was my turn, i regurgitated the lines that i had repeated since i got out of the car (just so that i sounded a bit professional) "I was wondering how i go about applying for a job at this hotel." he calmly, slightly smiled out of relief that i wasn't there to book a cruise or something of the sort. he walked around the corner as i waited watching the busy 'go-ings' on in the stylish lobby. when he returned, he handed me a couple of stapled sheets of paper and said "you can fill these out and return them" i smilled gratefully and said thanks. (on the bottom of the intro page, was a list of benifits -not the reason i will apply but, still, not bad - with discounted accomadation at 3600 hotels round the world, discounted travel, airfairs, car hire and tours, 25% of hotel food and beverage outlets, meals provided free of charge during work, uniform 'launded' free, training and development, oportunity to make new friends in the social club and access to career oportunities around the world -pretty cool no!!!!!!!!!!)

i turned and walked out the door to pit street to spend my christmas voucher at boarders (got a rhyming dictionary, thesaurus (organised by the flow of ideas and not alphabetical), and a DVD of John Mayer. It might sound nerdy to have bought those dictionary objects but i do have a reason - Song writing, hopefully to improve it by a technique of drawing up worksheets with the idea or title, then words from the theasaurus - the dinosaur of the dictionaries (saurus -keep up!), that related to that idea, then find words that rhym with it. Then you have a sheet with words to use so ideas don't have to be compromised to fit 'perfect rhyms' and also, you have a sheet full of words to spark of ideas so you can go searching for 'sensory memories'.

Anyway, here i am so excited about the hotel application, that i'm sitting here filling out most of it already!!! i look forward to the future!!!!!!!!!!!

In Time

Yay, i finally worked out how to change the clock settings!

Clever!!

Reading though my joke book, I found this clever joke:

An English professor writes the sentence, ‘A woman without her man is nothing’ on the blackboard and tells his students to punctuate it. A male student writes, ‘A woman, without her man, is nothing.’ A female student writes, ‘A woman: without her, man is nothing.’

No Particular Place To Go

Ahh, sitting on the boat, typing at the table. Staring at the illuminated computer screen as everything around it is getting close to pitch black. As I stare away from the screen, my eyes slowly re-adjust to the Christmas decorations wrapped around the poles in the cabin and the towels hanging from makeshift clotheslines. As I sit in my peaceful mood, my brother finishes playing his game boy as he fires the spark from the switch, light explodes into the room and the lights almost blow my eyes out, I have to close my eyes a little to give them time.

As I move to one of the beds, I sit again in the dark, I don’t know why, but it is soothing as I listen to Ben Folds off headphones in my computer, my brother running wild somewhere over the boat. My mind is wandering, thinking of so many things and of nothing at the same time.

Looking to my red and blue lyrics book with fake gold tinted corners (I picked a nice one cause I realised I would have it for a while) sitting there with a couple of new songs, two of which came at about 12:30am (no joke) – ahh the creative process is interesting. Thinking to the future of my songs, how far will it go?? : ). I was thinking to the band which will be playing here on New Years Eve, what it would be like if they invited me up for me to play one song, and if I put my name down to play next year, what it would be like, playing and singing on the stage, everyone watching and listening – which is were one of the songs sprung from – the dream girl walking in while I’m playing– ha ha, its funny : p

Then I think to the book I’m reading almost every spare minute I have - “How People Grow,” to all the valuable lessons I have learnt from between the pages – the rocks in that mine of gold. It may be long and take a while to file through all the rocks but I love it! The gold is worth it and I’m enjoying the clear mine air (I know most mine air probably isn’t clear – don’t know, never been in one, but this one is!!!) -the growth process and things that I can do to improve it, to move it on its way. It is a great book!!

Well, everyone is back now and I think that I will be off to bed slowly, provided another song doesn’t come knocking on my head : ) – I don’t mind though!!!
