Coming to you live....

Coming to you live from mittagong tonight, thats right, posting remotely here. Its lovely down here, if only there was more time. Am looking forward to the holidays so that we can spend a substantial amount of time down here and possibly on the coast surfing and stuff. Had a good day...got up this morning(kinda) at 6-7am (after going to sleep at 1am) and we drove down to the southern highlands. Got here about 9 and went around a bit which was fun in the chilled whether...i love this cold! its lovely. This is why when people in sydney put their little jumpers on in sydney and they saw..it's cold...i don't really understand why...although obviously i do get cold! and can feel it but love the cold whether. I love the highlands, can't wait till those holidays!!! Got to go to church down here as well...was great, got to see Andrew and Cecily and their really cool kids and have a bit of a chat. Jess read the bible splendidly tonight as well at the last minute, filling in for someone. It was good then went to a fish shop to get a takeaway burger and head home to eat sourounded with friends. So it has been a good day. The highlands are great.

Till tomorrow
goodnight.

Saturday

Another long day at the westin today! Not much of a surprise, i went from one car to another for about an hour! The silver linning being that most of them were really quite nice, a nice jaguar, lots of nice mercedes, the new porche cayenne turbo (it was ok but a bit too bulky...the dials inside where nice : p ), some nice handeling subaru's, the newest Land Rover which i kind of like...its huge, a mini-van, yes, a mini van! i was a bit shocked!! a nice gold BMW that drove very nicely.... So that was a bit of fun, got to try out some nice cars, it helps me decide what i might like to get later on....like seeing the Land Rover in nice black and looking great sitting next to ( i parked them together...) the black mercedes benz (CL55 i think maybe...not sure, not too much idea about mercs but it was nice) thinking that could be my garage, one for travelling to work and the other for travelling to the highlands on weekend 'get-away' trips : ) but then i walked passed the nice gold convertable 4 seater BMW which drove lovely..ly...and had a great engine thinking...oh maybe i should swap the beamer for the merc...(its ok, i was only dreaming!! : p) see i get to test drive lots of very nice cars! i made the guy in the car park jelouse by driving past each time with a really nice flashy car while he did his job, wave his batton so noone slammed into the gas pipe they were fixing fro the last time someone did....but it eavened out with the not as flashy cars...it was fun...but still exausting and hard work....don't laugh...it is!

i found today my job went quicker i think when i thought about all the people off for the weekend who were walking in the street and thought of my job a little more from their point of view as they are relaxed and having fun i tried to kind of be relaxed and have fun on the Saturday but still working at my job. i think i also wowed at least two sets of people who were very very thankful after my help and were very friendly..i felt happy after helping them....i think that might be why i like this job....at times...need to find some where different to do it i think....

Heading down the highlands i hope if jess is still up to it when she gets home from work...we will see...hope so but of course if she's not...i won't mind...she has been working all day too!!!!

Anyway...goodnight and god bless

By the way, with the picture of the aston martin above,i didn't drive on of those in my list today, but i am so lucky to have driven one during my time at westin...it was a DB9 and it was awesome!!! : ) i enjoyed that morning!!!

Venice Simplon- Orient Express

The classic...it just looks cool and is the inspiration for the logo of Orient Express.

Trains

The orient express company not only has hotels but also has trains and cruises!!! I would love to test out this company and discover new things and historical things, that is one thing that i love about this company is the difference from a normal hotel which is just in every corner of the globe and just has people staying at it (i know they are more) but this one is steeped in history and tradition and learning ( i think, i haven't been to any of them yet! )

Orient Express Magazine

I have recently recieved my first copy of Orient Express Magazine. I was excited and still am. I am really interested in this company i think, but not sure whether for working at or just using them as my favourite hotel group...to stay : p

Road Trip

Looking at that last picture, i really want to go on a road trip down the coast, just pack stuff, hire a nice place and stay there and explore the town and just have fun, nowhere to go but where we want to go, the beach, the shops, the town or...nowhere! Just a road trip through the country : )

Sounds like fun

ramblings.....s..s..s..s.

Had a bit of a drive today, Jess showed me and encouraged me on the route to her house from mine and back. It wasn't too bad, wasn't feeling right really but am now. We drove all the way, the etag thingy didn't 'beep' but it did the other two times (its my mum's) so we got there and back fine. We then went to the gym after we got back and had a good go. I usually feel better after the gym. I have now cleaned up my desk, i can see wood! it looks cleaner, and i have three bags neatly on my floor near the door ready. One for work, one for uni, and one for the gym. Its getting neater. Thats about all the rambling i have for today....hmm...not very interesting...maybe you might think better.

God Bless

Traditional Afternoon Tea

This afternoon my family and jess went along to Afternoon Tea and the tea rooms in the qvb building. It was lovely. We arrived a bit late but managed to pull it all together and become relaxed after parking the car at Hilton across the road. We travelled across the road and made our way to the tea rooms. We were seated and given menus. We all had a 'Traditional Afternoon Tea' with a selection of teas. Rich got a vanilla one, mum a one called Africa and i had a silvertips which was a white tea. We passed all the teas (and the glass of wine that dad got) around the table all tasting each others and sharing and commenting and enjoying ourselves. I found this great, the idea that you each get a different one and then share tastings, its a lovely idea to be able to share and act like connoisseurs and talk about the tea and the food. The food was yummi, with finger sandwiches to start (if you wanted to, you could chose) then some delicious scones which were crunchy and had a delicious strawberry jam and cream to go with surrounded by filo pastry with spinach. On the middle plate of the stack was little petite fours with a choc cake one, a carrot and walnut cake one, a little meringue with something like pistachio, a strawberry one, a passionfruit stack biscuit and little cream filled things which was all delicious. There was one of each for the five people. It was great and amazing that after these little tasting portions, everyone felt quite full!

A lovely afternoon was had by everyone, the chance to celebrate mother's day after all the hubub of the real one (we were all working or churching) and take time out in the middle of the week to just stop and enjoy a bit of tea.

The Palm Jumeirah

Just watching a program on National Geographic on the building of the Palm Jumeirah (pictured above and in post below...)

It is amazing, it is a huge island made with sand in a perfect palm shape. It shows all the problems they had to deal with waves eroding the coast, not having clean water inside, having to keep changing the requirements, putting so many hundreds of hotels and shopping centers and houses and such all along every inch of the 5 km by 5 km island with 17 palm fronds! it is huge...you need to watch the program to get the full grasp. It is really quite amazing!!!! Also it takes so many people to create it....there are 10's of thousands of construction sites....

the program said that the crown prince 'was so inspired' that he is now building two more that are much bigger than the original one!!

Amazing!!!

Updating...

Well, this arvo, i got home and fell asleep straight away! missed dinner. I awoke later after a call, then went to have dinner that had been put away for me. Brother and mum went to a play. Got a special surpise for mum tomorrow, which dad almost spoiled today. Thats about all...just a quickupdate tonight...given the tiredness...thanks for reading...

God Bless

PS. the above picture is of the 'hydropilis' a currently underway hotel off the coast of dubai that will be completely underwater...thats right, completely underwater. It will cost approx $800 million to complete, it will have the base station on top of the water and the guests will travel to the hotel which will be located underneath it. I believe that planes are not alowed to fly above so that no one knows whats going on there....

Blogger out....

An answer within a post.

Well, the test went ok, which maybe means that i failed...usually when i think i did well, i fail...so here's hoping that i didn't for a first time : ) But one positive thing was that i feel that i was actually thinking like a manager...which i think was good...and hard to do

In answer to andrew's comment, i am doing some music, not playing as much at st. michael's but rich and i are entered into a school battle of the bands. we are playing two songs...don't need no doctor...cover of ray charles done by john mayer...and rich wants me to do one of my songs...but thats only if we get past the first round. So hopefully that will go well...hope we do ok. hope its not too frightening. The bands name is

'ignition'

So in the mean time i've been practising a bit for that...and playing a bit of guitar..
